PDF VERSION. BlueCloudz: Prince Unauthorized traces the roots of Prince Rogers Nelson (1958-2016): singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer, fashion designer, actor, philanthropist, activist, and mentor. Examine the fortunate and difficult developmental aspects Prince faces in his childhood. He’s born into a musical household with prodigious abilities, but must overcome epilepsy, parental feuds, abandonment, bullies, and racism during the U.S. Civil Rights Movement. Despite the pain he endures (and likely because of it), Prince moves mountains. Resilience is the early narrative.

Travel with us to humble beginnings. Live on his street. Be a fly on the wall as his circle forms. This book won’t pass judgment or seek resolution. It won’t feed fascination around the circumstances of his death. Points plot, lines form, but most remains open. Some may object to the mercurial icon given an honest treatment — but this book isn’t about false idolatry. This is Prince at human scale. BlueCloudz is written as a prequel to the motion picture Purple Rain (1984).

BlueCloudz is an unauthorized biography in 300+ scenes, with an exclusive look at selections from the author’s Prince collection (1978-84). Go Booklets has worked with the Estate of Prince Rogers Nelson (“The Prince Estate”) regarding its intellectual property concerns. However, the publisher hasn’t sought authentication, licensing, endorsement, or sponsorship of its project. That was by design, so the author could paint an intimate, unfiltered, and uncommon portrait of his subject. Considering Prince’s fierce independence, this seems only fitting.
